What Jesus Said About Himself
Jesus said to them, “I Am the Light of the World”
John 8:12
- Jesus is the Light of God entering the Darkness of this World (John 1:1-19)
- Jesus proclaimed himself as the Light of God for and in the World. (John 8:12; 9:5; 12:46)
- The Light of God shows us our spiritual darkness and blindness and also reveals the Gospel to us as hope and salvation from them. 2 Corinthians 4:4-6 (See also Acts 26:18, Col 1:13, 1 Peter 2:9; Luke 1:79)
- Jesus is the embodied Word of God, Light of God, and Love of God. (John 3:16-21)
