Action Steps: Four actions to take to experience God’s peace in Jesus Christ.

  1. Place your trust in him for salvation and eternal life. (Romans 5:1 ff)
  2. Pray (Philippians 4:6-7)
  3. Learn to set our minds upon helpful thoughts (Philippians 4:8)
  4. Learn his ways and to obey his commands with the church (Philippians 4:9)

What is the difference between knowing what characteristics should be part of Christian’s life and actually having them formed into our lives?

How is Christian Peace different than the “inner peace” often sought for popularly? (John 14:25-27)

How Has Jesus made peace between humanity and God? (Romans 5)

Why is it important to add thanksgiving with supplication in prayer? (Philippians 4:6-7)

What are some ways to direct our thoughts toward helpful ideas when we are depressed, anxious, lustful, worrisome, angry, vindictive, or overwhelmed by other sinful thoughts? (Philippians 4:8; Colossians 3)

How do other believers help us to know and follow Jesus? (Philippians 4:9; 1 Corinthians 11:1)
