A Prayer for the Week – October 13, 2020

1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. (Ephesians 4:1-7; ESV)

Lord our desire is to live in a way that is worthy of this salvation that you have called us to in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge and confess our weakness and sinfulness, and that our only hope in attaining this salvation is in the work that Jesus has accomplished on the cross and in the resurrection. We ask you to enable us and strengthen us by the Spirit to display that grace in our lives to the people you have placed in them. May we pursue humility, gentleness, and patience in our attitudes toward people and circumstances. When we desire to assert our will and make our demands, remind us of the Gospel, and bring us to repentance and conform our desires to your will. Give us the grace to bear with others in love, not begrudgingly, but in a way that shows your love. And as we live in our local church and the church worldwide, help us to live in a way that displays your glory and grace to a world desperately in need of your salvation. Unite your church in the peace, hope, and faith that you have called us to in Jesus Christ. And help us to serve one another according to how you have equipped us with your spiritual gifting in our lives, so that we might grow in maturity in Christ, build up the church, and speak the Gospel to our friends and neighbors. Amen.

*Please pray for the Lord to provide Shore Community church a venue to use for our gatherings. Currently we meet regularly in a home, and will continue until he opens a way for us to meet in a better facility, storefront, etc.

Shore Community Church connects online for prayer typically one evening a week. If you would like us to pray for you or if you would like the Zoom link for the meeting, contact us and we will be in touch.
