A Prayer for the Week – September 8, 2020

1 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Romans 5:1-5; ESV)

Jesus, you have justified me before God when I stood condemned in my sin. Thank you for making peace, when I was under the penalty of my sin. My faith is in you and in your work, not my own. Through you I know God’s grace, and you have given me hope forever. In a world of loss, struggle, and pain, I rejoice in the hope you give me: life forever with you. Strengthen me to endure the sufferings that I face in life, and conform my character to yours. Out of that endurance through suffering, solidify my hope in you. As you pour your love into my heart by the Spirit, may it be expressed in my life to others, so that you might draw my friends and family to follow you, and also know your peace, grace, and hope.

*Please pray for the Lord to provide Shore Community church a venue to use for our gatherings. Currently we meet regularly in two different homes, and will continue until he opens a way for us to meet in a better facility, storefront, etc.

Shore Community Church connects online for prayer. If you would like us to pray for you or if you would like the Zoom link for the meeting, contact us and we will be in touch.
