A Prayer for the Week – September 1, 2020

2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak. 5 Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time. 6 Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person. (Colossians 4:2-6; ESV)

Jesus thank you for the hope you have given us in your resurrection; the promise that we will be raised from the dead, just as you have risen. Thank you for your care for our lives; for your provision and protection. Thank you for the daily provision of food and shelter, which we often take for granted. Thank you for the cleansing, healing, purifying, justifying, saving work you have accomplished on the cross on our behalf, so that we can stand before you justified by faith in you, with no regard for our works. Lord, open a door for us to share this Gospel with those around us who are receptive. Give us wisdom with the way we live, and help us to use what you have given us wisely. May we leverage our time, talents, and treasures for your glory and the good of neighbors. And may the way we speak be full of grace, honoring you and benefiting those to whom we speak. Your cross proves you don’t waste suffering, so may any suffering and trials we endure serve to make us like you.

*Please pray for the Lord to provide Shore Community church a venue to use for our gatherings. Currently we meet regularly in two different homes, and will continue until he opens a way for us to meet in a better facility, storefront, etc.

Shore Community Church connects online for prayer. If you would like us to pray for you or if you would like the Zoom link for the meeting, contact us and we will be in touch.
