During a time of unprecedented confusion and turmoil in our society, use this occasion to sure up the foundation of your faith.
46 “Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? 47 Everyone who comes to me and hears my words and does them, I will show you what he is like: 48 he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when a flood arose, the stream broke against that house and could not shake it, because it had been well built. 49 But the one who hears and does not do them is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. When the stream broke against it, immediately it fell, and the ruin of that house was great.” (Luke 6:26-49)
What do both men in the story have in common? What is different?
What are you building your life upon?
In Matthew 7, the builders are called wise and foolish, why do you think this is the case?
How have these recent days exposed ways in which you’ve rejected Jesus’ lordship?
Has your anxiety over these times driven you away from or toward reading the word, praying, and singing in worship?
Have you neglected your spiritual duties?
Are you applying the Gospel to your life in diligent work, generosity, service, and devotion?
Have you taken proper time for rest?
Are there certain areas of your life where you are refusing to repent?
